IVF success rates in Tennessee

Tennessee has 7 CDC-reporting fertility clinics in 6 cities. Chattanooga has the most with 2. Together they reported 4,675 ART cycles and 1,266 live-birth deliveries to the CDC for 2022.

The table below lists every clinic alphabetically with its CDC live-birth rate per intended egg retrieval in three age bands and the number of retrievals behind each rate. It is not a ranking: small samples and different patient populations make direct comparison unreliable. Open a clinic for all age bands, donor-egg rates and the national benchmark.

Listed alphabetically, not ranked. Each rate is the CDC-reported percentage of intended egg retrievals that resulted in a live-birth delivery for patients using their own eggs (2022), with the number of intended retrievals behind it. 1 clinic is marked “small sample”: the under-35 figure rests on fewer than 20 intended retrievals, so the CDC prints it as a fraction.

Why these numbers do not rank clinics. The CDC says that “comparisons between clinics should be made with caution. Clinics may have different rates because they have different patient populations or ART treatment methods.” Small samples swing widely: the CDC notes that if a clinic reports only one ART cycle in a given category, its success rate in that category “would be either 0% or 100%.” Clinics also treat different patients (age within a band, diagnoses, how many patients with a poor prognosis they accept), and those differences move a rate as much as the care does. Use the table to see who reports what, and on how many cycles, then ask each clinic about patients like you. Source: CDC, How to Interpret ART Success Rates.

Frequently asked questions

How many fertility clinics in Tennessee report to the CDC?

7 clinics in Tennessee reported 2022 ART cycles to the CDC National ART Surveillance System, across 6 cities. Clinics that did not report are listed without data.

Are the clinics ranked?

No. They are listed alphabetically, each with its CDC-reported live-birth rate per intended egg retrieval and the number of retrievals behind it. The CDC itself says that comparisons between clinics should be made with caution, because clinics have different patient populations and treatment methods, and a rate based on a few dozen cycles can swing widely. Clinics whose CDC figure is a fraction (fewer than 20 intended retrievals) are marked as small samples.

Does a higher rate mean a better clinic?

No. The CDC cautions that average chances may not reflect an individual's outcome, and clinics treat different patient populations: age mix, diagnoses and how many patients are turned away all move the rate. Use the figures as a starting point for questions, not as a verdict.
